The Marble Outpost Lodge is a mountain inn, lodge or bed and breakfast retreat with income history in a beautiful mountain setting. Located only 1 hour from world-class skiing in Aspen and Snowmass, the Marble Outpost has a wide variety of recreational opportunities right out the front door. In the summer, it's time for fly-fishing, four-wheeling, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, hiking and backpacking, wilderness trekking, and even flying bush airplanes. There's a 4,600-foot private grass airstrip only a half mile from the lodge. In the fall, the nearby mountains offer excellent hunting for trophy mule deer, elk and blue grouse. Winter is time for Nordic and backcountry skiing, ice hockey and skating on the Marble town ice rink, sledding down the long quarry road (1.5 mile sledding run) and even ice climbing on local ice falls. The lodge has been completely remodeled in 2008 and is in pristine condition. There are four apartments, each with full kitchen, separate entry, and bath. The building is 2,964 square feet on a lot that is slightly less than 1 acre. The 2 downstairs apartments each have 1 bedroom, a living/kitchen area, full kitchen, and a shower bath. They feature warm wood accents and solid maple wood floors. The 2 upstairs apartments each have vaulted open-beam ceilings, wood accents, large balconies, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bath. Walls are well insulated 2x6 walls with log siding. Roof is metal. Heat is radiant propane. Water is a 1-inch line connected to the Marble Town Water system. Septic is engineered and over-designed. The property has many large, tall ponderosa pines and fronts County Road 3, a paved road with good year-round access.
